What is the one quality that is present in all fail blogs. They make unforgivable mistakes. Do you make these mistakes as well?
1. Your articles are boring – Remember that thick book we all have to go through during high school? Hint: Textbooks. Aren’t they the most boring thing we ever come across. Why? There’s no life in the writing. It’s robotic. Write like you talk or you’re going to make your readers fall asleep. Yep, just the same way we did back then.
2. Your blog revolves around you – Unless you are a celebrity, no one cares about what’s been going on with your life. Instead of personal ramblings, you’re way more likely to gain loyal readers by sharing tips that can help solve their problems.

Making money blogging really isn’t all that difficult, but it will take some concerted effort on your part, and it probably won’t happen overnight either!
If you’re just starting out I would suggest you set-up a Blogspot blog. They are free and easy to monetize. Blogspot, also called Blogger, is owned by Google so setting up AdSense is really a snap.
The best way to get to blogging is with your own hosted blog from Wordpress.org. The feeling is these hosted blogs get “more respect” so to speak from the search engines, and I feel there is some truth to this. If you don’t want to part with about $10.00 a month for hosting (cheap!) than a Blogger blog where it’s at.

Search engine optimization, also known as SEO, is without doubt the most important thing any website can invest in, and every year the methods of effective SEO become more advanced and more specific. The search engines are constantly reinventing themselves, moving forward to become pickier about sites that may be spam, and far more accurate in matching the content they deliver to the specifics of user queries. Every website owner needs to review SEO strategies every year to make sure they are still the best available.
In the’90s, SEO was simple. You added a few meta tags to your website, and made sure your content was peppered with keywords at a high percentage. Just repeating keywords was once enough to draw traffic. This was back in another era when spider technologies were relatively new, and when website visitors were OK with simple matches that approximated the information they were seeking.
Up to and into 2009, search engines have worked tirelessly to make their searches much more accurate, and Google is the best example of that. Their original algorithm gave much more weight to back-link counting and prioritizing. That means that you would get more credit for a link to your website from a well respected website than one that was just created, and that the more links you had of high value, the better you?d perform in search results. Additionally, keyword anchor text for those links would optimize your site for specific keywords through links.

Indeed blogging is a great way to make money online. Ever since it took off in 2004, many have jumped on the bandwagon in hope to taste financial success that they have envisioned. However, there are a couple of things one should keep in mind before they start blogging. Below is the list of things you should keep in mind before starting your own blog.
1. Be realistic – It’s all fine and dandy to dream big, but there is a problem when you have big expectations and don’t see yourself anywhere near it. I think when it comes to blogging, it’s better to set goals in stages so that your motivation will sustain over a longer period of time.
2. Don’t quit your regular job – Because blogs make money randomly or not at all, especially when they’re new, it’s not wise to quit your regular job and sit at home in front of your computer hoping to strike the mother lode instantly. Instead, set aside some time every day to work on your blog and popularize it.

True marketing is a science. Numbers are constantly analyzed and several different techniques are conducted and test to make sure the campaign will stay effective and maximize profits. For some reason, people think it’s different for online marketing.
Unfortunately too many people are playing the “copy cat” game when it comes to online marketing. Few want to do research, instead trying to copy the same success story over and over again.
Split testing is a way to bring the science back into marketing, because the truth about marketing is that what worked for one person may not work as well for this new marketing campaign.

Most of the rules and tips that are associated with writing for eZines and newsletters also apply to writing blog entries, though there are some truly important differences as well. If you keep these top ten tips for writing a blog entry in mind, you will be creating excellent blog content in no time at all.
1. The headline is the most important thing – You have about 6 seconds to attract attention from an Internet user before he clicks off your site and look somewhere else. This is about the same attention span of a two year old child, so you need a headline that is going to pull them in immediately, and capture their interest long enough to get them reading the rest.
2. Write in the same way that you talk – It is okay to use common expressions and to write conversationally. Let your blog be fluid, conversational and friendly, and your readers will keep coming back for more.

With thousands of new blogs making its way to the internet, either your blog is unique or people won’t pay much attention to it. Fortunately, there are many ways to make a unique blog. Below I’m going to share with you some of the techniques I personally use.
1. Voice – Having your own style of writing can really help differentiate yourself with other bloggers. A good example would be Brian Clark of Copyblogger. His writing style is short, precise and interesting.
2. Design – It should come as no surprise that a unique blog design can help differentiate yourself that other blogs in your niche. Besides logo, the color of your blog can also help create a unique experience to your visitors. I recommend having only 2-4 different colors for your blog design.

Extensible Stylesheet Language (XSL) is an XML technology which is used to transform XML data. XML file can be used to set the ground-rules for a given body of data and to describe the data itself. XSL allows us to take that input XML data and convert it into information which can be displayed in a web browser window or opened with a text editor. It can also be used to create an XML file which is a modified version of an input XML file.
When displaying elements in a browser window, the XSL elements which allow us to loop through an XML tree and carry out decision-making really come into their own. One of the key methods used in XSL for looping through all occurrences of a given XML element is the “For-each” element. This uses the “select” attribute to specify which XML element is to be used in the loop. The “For-each” element uses both an opening and a closing tag and any lines of code placed between the opening and closing tags will be repeated each time the element specified in the “select” attribute is encountered in the XML file.
For example, suppose we have an XML file containing a list of companies and the addresses of their websites. Suppose, as well, that the element which we will be targeting in the XSL “For-each” statement is called “company” and that, within each company element, we have a “name”, “telephone” and “website” element. Before starting our “For-each” loop, we could place the opening tag of an HTML “ul” element (an unordered or bulleted list).

You have probably come across many blog tips before. Some are good, while others are just repetitions wrote in a confusing manner. Truth be told, you don’t need hundreds on blog tips to succeed when professional bloggers only stick to a few. Simply use these 7 tips and I’ll guarantee you a better blog today.
1. Reply to comments on your blog – Replying to questions or comments from readers is your way of letting people know that your blog is “alive.” It gives readers the opportunity to interact and engage in conversation.
2. Don’t think about making money first – If making money from your blog is your primary goal, I will not argue against that. The problem with focusing solely on money in the beginning is that you lose sight of the far more significant goal every new blog must reach first: quality content. What good will you provide your readers if you only post hundreds of affiliate links and self-promotional articles in the hope of winning people’s credit card numbers? Don’t be greedy. Money is great but don’t let it destroy your blog.
