Snub New And Shiny For Internet Marketing Success

A familiar problem with individuals who have tried and failed at online marketing is that they continue jumping ship, from one product to another, from one method to another. One month it is PPC, the following it is article marketing. One month it is list building, the following it is social media. You’ve signed up to do the Thirty Day Challenge – again – and then another “guru” promotes another “must have” method. This is the most familiar problem I come across as an internet marketing coach.
Everything changes so rapidly in the businesss of online marketing it is difficult to keep up and even more difficult to remain focussed for a long enough time to finish the projects you start.
However, if you do not learn the habit of completing what you start you are going to be eternally frustrated and that IM life-style you so desire will forever remain hard to get hold of.
Chances are, if you’ve been around the online marketing block a number of times, you will have already developed the belief that you are not proficient at completing things. And right there is a great place to start. You need to develop a success mindset.
The simplest way to transform the beliefs you have in relation to yourself is to adjust the truth about you. And that’s not as difficult as it might seem. You just need to notice more and pay closer attention to what supports you.
To adjust your perception about being a poor completer you need to start noticing where you in fact do finish jobs and start to develop a track record of the tasks you do finish off.
Purchase a journal and put the date and “Things I’ve Completed” at the beginning of the page. Then, as you go through the day keep a note of all the things you’ve completed, both for work and personal life. Fill your list with small things in the beginning, as many as possible, so you set yourself up for success. As an example, 5 items on your list could be:
- accomplished keyword research for “online marketing coach” phrase
- added a blog post to my main site
- wrote an item to submit to goto article directory
- cleared out one drawer in bathroom
- read one chapter of my book
At the end of each day read the list to yourself and record your success. You’ll discover that the more you see the things you finish, the more confident you will grow to be that you really are a completer. Then, one day, you will notice that the little steps have become a big concluded project and your opinion of yourself as someone who starts things but rarely finishes them has been replaced.
