Being able to network effectively for marketing purposes is a skill. You might even say it is an art. There are plenty of prospects all around you but you likely aren’t seeing them.
Every single minute of every day you have a chance to reach out and find more contacts. It’s so easy once you know what to do you’ll be amazed that you ever thought it was hard. It just takes some effort and attention.
Do you talk to people when you are out running errands or enjoying yourself? If you don’t, you’re missing out and holding back your business. Use the 5 foot rule to help you gauge when to reach out. If there is someone within five feet of you, speak to them. It can be something nondescript, like the weather, that’s fine.
If they are receptive, continue the conversation naturally. You want to see if you can get to the point where you can ask a question, like “what do you do for a living?” If they answer this question, you then will be trying to see if they want more out of life.
If they note that they are receptive to new opportunities, try a line like “I have something I think you might want to look at. Would you be interested?” Your next move is to give them some sort of tool such as a website or a reference. If you can, get their card so you can call them with more information.
If you do this regularly you will find that you come across literally dozens of opportunities every day. Can you imagine how that might build your business? Even if you only talk to 5 new people each day it would be a big difference.
If you spoke to even five new people each day, how do you think that would affect your network marketing business? You’d have a lot more prospects in line that is for sure! Your business would take off exponentially. They might even refer their friends to you as well.
Try it! The next time you are out, use the 5 foot rule. Talk to people. Your network marketing prospects will grow practically overnight. You’ll be amazed at what this does for your revenue.
